About Me

My name is Eric Dolecki and I am a concept engineer living in Boston, MA. Lucky enough to have a beautiful family. Living a full life. With a burning desire to make it to Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal.

I like the outdoors greatly, but I am not a trekker or hiker. To begin training, I set the treadmill to an incline of 4 and would talk around 2-3mph for about a mile or two every few days. Not. In. Shape. I was however quite eager to take to the elevation and experience a little bit of the magic that Everest hikers enjoy. This is my story.

THE JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME

I've seen the movies and the YouTube documentaries. I've read books about Everest and mountaineering. I've mentally marveled at the adventure a select few have taken to stand at the foot of Mount Everest. It's something I've always dreamed of doing myself.

Not yet fifty, but I know that every year that passes pushes such a goal further away. Everest Base Camp. I decided that it was time to undertake this journey while I was still able to reasonably make it.

At the end of my time in this place, it's not something, that looking back upon, is something that wished that I had done. Or tried.
